Launching! 12 Questions Unifying EU AI Act & NIST AI RMF
Plus: Recommended actions for each question
Dear AI ethics enthusiasts,
I am very excited to share a new resource!
I crafted a list of 12 questions to assess AI governance, distilling the two most influential frameworks, the EU AI Act and the NIST AI RMF, and building on my previous paper unifying these two frameworks into one.
The questions are meant to bring simplicity to anyone who wants to evaluate and improve AI governance — especially AI companies and external evaluates, such as investors and procurement times companies. The list of 12 questions is organized into 4 main questions, so that those who want even more simplicity can start with those.
In addition, I made an extended version which includes recommended actions for each question with references to the relevant parts in the Act and RMF. This pdf and a cheat sheet are downloadable below to paid subscribers. Thanks for your support!
Last, on Nov. 20 I am holding a webinar: I will teach the fundamentals of AI governance using the full framework and participants will practice through a role playing game with generative AI (it’s one of my AI Ethics Games!). I priced it for accessibility, at $10 a ticket, but it’s free for the first 20 registrants and the paid subscribers (promo code below). Participants also get the full framework. Register here!
Enjoy!
The 12 Questions
You are welcome to download the pdf with the list of 12 questions and the four overarching questions. For each of the 12 questions, the pdf includes references to the relevant parts in the Act and RMF. In addition, the it includes brief intros to both of these influential documents and a description of the maturity levels, which are based on NIST’s work.
Recommended actions
To accompany the 12 questions, I made a list of recommended actions for each question. They provide guidance on how to improve in each of the domains the questions touch on, and are also based on the same two documents, the Act and RMF, referencing the relevant parts in each.
Here’s the cheat sheet and full paper, and below is the promo code for free access to the webinar about it:
