Today, I am writing to share an important development in US AI Regulation: The EEOC, a US federal agency, provided an opinion in a lawsuit against an AI provider, an HR platform, which demonstrates holding companies accountable for AI discrimination. In particular, they show that companies that sell AI-enabled hiring tools are responsible for hiring discrimination resulting from employers' use.

What happened

Workday is a key player in the HR world. Their AI-enabled platform supports hiring processes.

Recently, Derek Mobley has sued Workday for hiring discrimination. He argues he was turned down from more than 100 jobs that used Workday's' platform due to his race, age, and disability status.
