OpenAI trains on user data by default, but you can opt-out. There are several ways to do it, and here is one.
For dessert, an AI-generated take on this post is at the end!
Step-by-Step Guide:
Navigate to OpenAI's Privacy Portal: You can just put this term in search engine and it will come up
Initiate Your Request: Look for the "Make a Privacy Request" button in the top right corner and click it.
Specify Your Needs: Choose the action you want to take regarding your data.
Submit Your Request: Once you've made your selection, submit your request.
Confirm Your Request: You'll receive a verification email. This step ensures that only you can make changes to your data.
Complete the Process: Follow the instructions in the email to finalize your request.
To make this process even clearer, I've created a screen capture video that walks you through each step:
Important Notes to Keep in Mind
Currently, you can only request to stop the use of your data for training from this point forward. There isn't an option to retroactively remove data used in past training.
